Plainfield Saints Youth Cheer

The Plainfield Saints Cheer program offers instruction and competitive cheer levels for ages 5 to 16.
No tryouts are required. Our goal is to teach safety and fundamentals in a fun and educational environment. As a proud member of Pop Warner Little Scholars, we also focus on academics requiring our cheer athletes to excel in the classroom before permitting them to participate on the field. The academic standards that have been set give our athletes a sense of responsibility and an appreciation of academics and athletics that will help them develop later on in life.

All Plainfield Saints Cheer Coaches are certified through Pop Warner. Together with Youth Cheer and Dance Alliance (YCADA), Pop Warner is able to provide online educational courses for its coaches, administrators and judges for all cheer levels

Practices and Games

Practices begin on/after August 1 and are Monday through Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. through Labor Day.
After Labor Day practices will be three times a week. Schedule to be determined by individual coaches.
Practices are held at various Plainfield school locations, and may be inside or outside depending on the weather. 

Cheer teams participate on the sidelines for 8 to 10 home and away football games beginning the last weekend of August. The schedule is created by Pop Warner and the first few games will be available mid-August.
Our home games are at Plainfield Central High School.

Cheer practice and game schedules are subject to change and will be communicated by coaches. 


Competitions and Exhibitions

The Saints Cheer teams will participate in at least 2 Exhibitions/Competitions depending on the division/squad. 
The instructional level will participate in the Princess Gala. 
All squads will participate at the conference and regional competitions. Squads at the competitive level have the chance to qualify for Nationals in Orlando, FL. 
Those advancing past the regional level will be responsible for funding any associated competition, travel and accessory costs.


Registration and Uniforms

Instructional Levels -
$500.00 (includes $150 fundraising fee and $175 cheer pack fee)
Competitive Levels - $575.00 (includes $150 fundraising fee and $150 cheer pack fee)

The Registration Fee Covers
1-Raffle Tickets (fundraising fee) 2- Insurance 3- All competition fees (excluding nationals)
4- Gym Rentals 5- Cheer Pack  6- Music and Copyrights for Competition

The Mandatory Fundraiser Fee of $150 per athlete is for our Annual Plainfield Saints Homecoming Raffle fundraiser. Each athlete will receive 15 raffle tickets to be sold at $10 per ticket. Tickets will be issued once registration is paid in full. When you sell the tickets the money goes back to you. The drawing for the winners will be held during our homecoming game. All tickets will need to be turned in at least one week before the homecoming game in order to be placed in the drawing.

Your athlete will be issued one Rental Uniform to be returned at the end of the season. 
Parents are responsible to provide all white gym shoes for sideline cheer at games.
